In-Line Gas-Liquid Separation - Ongoing

Goals

Promotion of phase separation through a combination of condensation and centrifugal forces to produce liquefied natural gas.

Topics of Research

Dispersed flows, flows with centrifuge components, break-up in droplets, phase change (evaporation and condensation), nucleation, jets.

Motivation

Heat exchanger modifications; design of intrusive and dispersing vanes for guiding the flow.

Available resources

ECT Tomography; venturi; nozzles; temperature and pressure sensor; Software PIV / PTV; Laser. More resources available soon.

Expected results

Numerical packages and prototypes.
